Combine channels to conquer commerce, concludes retail sector report
With the retail sector facing its toughest challenge in recent years, this year is set to be just as challenging. But the emergence of multi-channelling could the glimmer of hope retailers are looking for, according to a special report on the retail industry from Business Reporter, to be published on Sunday 19 February.
“There’s no doubt that multi-channelling is here to stay, and the retailers who get the most creative with this medium are the ones with the most secure long-term futures,” explains editor Carol Jenkins.

Rapidly developing new technologies are blurring the boundaries between broadcaster and viewer. Now everyone can get their message across, according to a special report on the broadcasting industry from Business Reporter, to be published on Saturday 18 February.
“Thanks to the internet, emerging new technology, cheap and simple-to-use digital equipment and the explosion in social networking, the notions of who is a broadcaster and to whom they are broadcasting are constantly being redefined,” says editor Jonathan Watson.
The report looks at how traditional broadcasters are using Facebook and twitter to encourage viewers to comment on, even participate, in TV shows.

The rise and rise of digital money is revolutionising the way people shop with major implications for all customer-facing businesses, according to the latest BusinessTechnology report, out with The Sunday Telegraph on 5 February.
The report draws on the expertise of organsiations such as Debenhams, Transport for London, Midland Expressway Ltd, PayPal and the Digital Money Forum to analyse different forms of mobile and contactless payments including tap-and-go, virtual wallets and e-vouchers.
It questions to what extent these changes are transforming UK business as opposed to simply adding gimmicks to encourage people to spend more.
