In collaboration with the eac, we established that retirement housing is a complex term with a myriad of definitions. Add to this the reluctance of families to make decisions about retirement housing until a crisis brings everything to a head and you have the perfect issue for a special report.

The aim of this report was to unravel and explain the issues surrounding retirement housing in a concise format. By distributing with the Guardian we targeted those with parents nearing retirement age.
